COLLECTION AND USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
You can store in our stores or browse our website without giving us your personal information.
However, we may collect personal information in the following cases:
Shopping at EEC: When you use a debit or credit card to make a purchase, we collect your debit or credit card information and your signature (in-store only) in order to process and administer your payment. If you make purchases through our website, we may also collect your billing and shipping address, telephone number, and e-mail address in order to deliver the products you have ordered. We may also collect optional information such as your birth date to send you a birthday card and any other information that may be collected via our websites and/or social networks.
When you return or exchange products purchased at one of our stores, we may ask you to provide your name, address, telephone number and proof of purchase. We collect this information to administer our loss prevention program and to help us identify and prevent fraud. For returns of items for which a customer's debit or credit card is refunded, we will ask you to provide your debit or credit card information in order to process and administer the refund transaction.
Marketing Communications: When you subscribe to our mailing list to receive our newsletter, catalog or other promotional communications by mail, email or other means of communication, we may collect personal information such as your first and last name, email, and/or mailing address (depending on the delivery method) and information about your interests in order to provide you with the service you have requested
You are free to opt out of receiving promotional communications from us at any time by clicking on the "unsubscribe" button that is usually located at the bottom of our emails or by contacting our representatives.
Online Registration: In order to take advantage of some of the features of our website (such as the wish list, address book, discounted prices, your purchase history, order tracking and returns), you may need to register and/or log in. When you register, we ask you to provide your complete information on our registration page so that we can provide and administer the service you request. At the time of your online registration, we may ask for your consent to receive future marketing information from EEC or its business partners. To withdraw your consent to these communications, please contact us.
Employment Opportunities at EEC: We may advertise employment opportunities on our websites and/or social networks and on partner job boards. When you apply for a job or submit questions regarding an employment opportunity, you may provide us with certain personal information about yourself (such as information contained in a resume, cover letter or similar employment-related materials). We use this information to process and respond to your application or other request.
Contests, Promotions, Surveys: When you enter a contest, participate in a promotion or complete one of our surveys, we may collect your name, address, telephone number and e-mail address. We use this information to administer your participation in the contest or promotion and, in surveys, to understand our customers and improve our product and service offerings, promotions and events. At the time you enter the contest, promotion or survey, we may ask for your consent to receive future marketing information from EEC and/or its business partners. The "Send to a Friend" feature and other similar features on our Web site allow you to send e-mails to other people. This feature requires you to provide your name and email address, as well as the name and email address of the recipient. We collect this account information in order to process and administer your customer profile.
Customer Service: When you submit a comment or question to our customer service department by email, through the chat service on our websites or via social networks, or when you visit a customer service counter at one of our stores, we may collect personal information such as your name, mailing address, email address and/or telephone number in order to respond to your comment or question. We also collect various types of information that you provide to us to enable us to respond to your inquiry.
COMMUNICATION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
Except as otherwise provided herein, we will not disclose personal information about our partners without their prior consent.
Service Providers: We may share your personal information with third parties who provide services on our behalf, such as processing payments, hosting our websites, sending emails or other communications on our behalf, running contests and promotions or analyzing the effectiveness of our advertising strategy. Your personal information is primarily stored in Canada but may be stored and processed outside of Canada in countries such as: the United States, India, Tunisia, Switzerland, Sri Lanka, Germany and Ukraine; by our affiliates and third party service providers.

WEBSITE INFORMATION
When you visit our websites, we collect the IP address of all visitors to our website and related information such as the browser you are using, the operating system you are using, the time spent on the website, website usage patterns, and the domain name of the website from which you linked to our site. We collect this information to help us evaluate your experience on our sites and to improve them.
PCI COMPLIANT
EEC is proud to confirm that we are PCI compliant and therefore do not store your credit card information on our servers; EEC uses the services of Moneris Canada, PayPal Canada, Seezle and Ayden to process your credit card payments and none of your information is stored on our servers. Our partners encrypt your data to prevent theft and fraud of data.
COOKIES AND WEB BEACONS
Our websites use a technology called "cookies". A cookie is a small piece of data that our website can send to your browser, which may then be stored on your hard drive so we can recognize you when you return. We use cookies on pages of our websites that require you to log in or that are customizable. If you have registered with one of our websites, these cookies help us identify you and may be necessary to provide you with the products and services you request. These cookies also provide us or our service providers with information that we will use to customize our websites according to your preferences. If you do not wish to continue receiving emails from EEC, please follow the steps outlined in the email you receive. Please note that each time we send you an email, we give you the opportunity to unsubscribe from our mailing list, so you are able to stop receiving emails at any time. You must allow 30 business days for your request to take effect. We appreciate your patience and understanding in allowing us time to process your request.
COMPLETELY DELETE YOUR DATA
If you have been an active partner and wish to completely delete your account with us, we recommend that you deactivate your account and contact us 7 years after your last transaction so that we can permanently delete your account. Please note that due to Canadian law we will not be able to complete the deletion of your account until that time, at which time you may make a request by mail at :

If you have been an active partner and wish to transfer your account, we recommend waiting for 60 days after your last transaction so that we can generate the report for your account. You can then make a formal request by sending it by mail to:

Please allow 60 business days for your request to take effect. Kindly arrange to cover the costs of generating, printing, and sending your data, which amount to 99.99 CAD + applicable taxes. Please include the following information: Your full name, the name of your company if applicable, complete address, phone numbers, your EEC account number, your email, and any other information that would help us process your request correctly, as well as the complete contact details of the partner to whom you wish us to transfer your data.
SECURITY OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
We recognize that our partners trust us to protect their personal information. We take this seriously. We have taken steps to protect the personal information in our custody and control. For example, we restrict access to personal information to those of our employees and authorized service providers who need the information for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. We have taken reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect against unauthorized access, use, modification and disclosure of personal information in our custody and control.
In order to provide you with an increased level of security, online access to certain personal information may be protected by a password of your choice. We strongly recommend that you do not share your password with anyone. EEC will never ask you for your password in an unsolicited communication.
Regardless of the foregoing, you should be aware that, unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be considered absolutely secure. Therefore, EEC does not declare or guarantee that personal information will not be lost, misused, or modified, and EEC assumes no responsibility for the personal information you transmit to EEC, nor for the use or misuse of personal information by you or third parties.
Below are some recommendations to help make your online shopping experience a safe one.
If you are using a public computer, always log off when you are finished. Do not share your passwords. Remember, anyone who knows your password can access your account. When creating a password, use at least eight characters - preferably a combination of upper and lower case letters and numbers. Do not use words from a dictionary, your name, email address or other personal information that can be easily obtained. We also recommend that you change your password frequently. You can change it by accessing the tab ''My account'' on our websites. Use a different password for each of your online accounts. Beware of unsolicited emails and phone calls. If you receive a suspicious email with a link to update your account information, do not click on it. Access your account directly at www.eecinc.ca. If you are contacted by a stranger who sends you an unsolicited email or asks you to confirm or provide your password or personal or banking information, ignore the request and contact us immediately.
For security reasons and to prevent fraud, credit card orders placed through our websites will only be accepted by EEC if the name and billing address match the name on the buyer's credit card and the address on their credit card file. If the information does not match, your order will be refused, even if the transaction has been pre-authorized by your bank. In this case, the reserved order amount will not be available for pickup until the credit is posted to your account, which may take three to seven business days..
DATA LEAKAGE OR THEFT
Notwithstanding the foregoing, you should be aware that, unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be considered absolutely secure. Therefore, EEC does not represent or warrant that personal information will not be lost, misused or altered, and EEC assumes no responsibility for the personal information you transmit to EEC, nor for the use or misuse of personal information by you or third parties.
In the highly unlikely event of a data leak or theft, EEC documents any incident in a repository and makes this repository available to its partners if they request it via info@eecinc.ca; Request for Incident Report.
USE OF SOCIAL MEDIA AND SOCIAL NETWORKS
We encourage you to review the privacy options and settings on the social media platforms and networks you use, so that you understand all of the choices they offer you about sharing information with us. Where appropriate, you will be able to update your preferences to reflect your usage.

Please include the following information: the reason for the complaint, the date when the event for which you are contacting us occurred, the details that lead you to file the complaint, your name, phone number, and email address. We will process and analyze your request and respond within 30 business days.
ABOUT CHILDREN
Children under 13 years of age
If you are a child under the age of 13, you may browse our websites, but you may not make purchases. You also cannot become a registered user or use any service that requires you to provide personal information. Our sites are not designed for children. We do not want to collect personal information from children under the age of 13. This policy is designed to protect children.
If you register and we learn that you are under 13 years of age, we will delete your registration information and send you an email to notify you. If you are under 13 and want to make a purchase, please have a parent or legal guardian place the order for you.
